How to Order from Temu in Nigeria

Walk into any group chat, Twitter timeline, or TikTok comment section in Nigeria today, and you will find someone talking about Temu.

It has become one of those apps everyone seems to have on their phone, and once people place their first order, they rarely stop.

Temu makes it possible to buy things people genuinely love without spending a fortune.

A student can finally afford the gadget they have been eyeing.

A young mother can stock up on baby items and home essentials without stretching her budget.

Someone furnishing a new apartment can find storage containers, decorations, and small appliances all in one place, at prices that make it easy to justify buying a little extra.

This is why so many first-time buyers end up placing a second, third, and fourth order shortly after their first package arrives; once you see the kind of variety and pricing available, it is hard to resist adding more items to your cart.

Reviews and unboxing videos from other Nigerian shoppers have made the whole experience feel more trustworthy over time, since buyers can see real photos and honest opinions before they commit to an order.

For many people, checking Temu has become a small daily habit, similar to scrolling social media, except this scroll sometimes ends with something new showing up at their doorstep two or three weeks later.

If you have been watching all this from the sidelines and are ready to place your own order, or if you already have the app but are not sure how the ordering process works from start to finish, this guide breaks it down clearly.

How to Place an Order on Temu

Step 1: Download the Temu App or Visit the Website

Mobile app:

Search for "Temu" on the Google Play Store or Apple App Store and install it. This is the option most Nigerian shoppers use because it is easier to track orders and get notifications.

Website:

Go to temu.com on your browser if you prefer shopping from a laptop or desktop.

Both versions work the same way, so pick whichever is more convenient for you.

Step 2: Create a Temu Account

Before you can order anything, you need an account.

(a) Open the app and tap "Sign up" or "Register."

(b) Sign up using your email address, phone number, or a linked account such as Google or Facebook.

(c) Verify your email or phone number with the code Temu sends you.

(d) Set a password you can remember.

Registration takes less than two minutes, and you do not need to enter any payment details at this stage.

Step 3: Browse and Search for Products

Once you are logged in, you will see the Temu homepage with categories like fashion, electronics, home and kitchen, beauty, and phone accessories.

To find what you want:

(a) Use the search bar at the top and type the exact item, for example "wireless earbuds" or "kitchen storage containers."

(b) You can browse by category.

(c) Use filters (price range, ratings, free shipping) to narrow down results.

(d) Check the star rating and read a few reviews before deciding, since product quality varies a lot from seller to seller on Temu.

Pay close attention to product descriptions, especially for clothes and shoes.

Step 4: Add Items to Your Cart

When you find something you want:

(a) Tap on the product to open the full listing.

(b) Select the correct size, colour, or variation if applicable.

(c) Choose the quantity.

(d) Tap "Add to Cart"

You can keep adding different items from different sellers into the same cart.

Temu groups them for you at checkout.

Step 5: Review Your Cart

Before checking out, open your cart and go through it carefully.

(a) Confirm the quantity and variation (size/colour) of each item.

(b) Remove anything you no longer want.

(c) Check if you qualify for free shipping. Temu usually sets a minimum order value for free shipping, and if your cart is below that amount, you will be charged a shipping fee. Adding one more small item can sometimes push you over the free shipping line and save you money.

(d) Look out for coupons or vouchers Temu may have applied automatically, and apply any promo code you have separately.

Step 6: Enter Your Delivery Address

This is one of the most important steps, because a wrong or incomplete address is the biggest reason packages get delayed or lost.

Fill in:

(a) Full name (the name that should be on the package)

(b) Phone number (make sure it is active, since couriers will call before delivery)

(c) Full street address, including house number and closest landmark

(d) City and state

(e) Postal/zip code (use your local postal code; if you are unsure, you can look it up online for your area)

Double-check everything before saving it.

If you live in an area couriers find hard to locate, add a clear landmark in the address line, such as "opposite XYZ filling station."

Step 7: Choose Your Payment Method

This is where most Nigerian buyers run into difficulty, so pay attention here.

Temu accepts:

(a) Debit cards

(b) Google Play

(c) Bank transfers

(d) OPay

Temu does not currently support cash on delivery, so you must complete payment online before your order ships.

Step 8: Place Your Order

Once your payment method is added.

(a) Review the order summary one final time, checking items, quantities, address, and total cost.

(b) Tap "Submit Order"

(c ) Wait for the payment confirmation on screen.

You will receive an order confirmation in the app and usually by email as well, with an order number you can use to track your purchase.

Step 9: Track Your Order

After your order is placed, go to "Your Orders" in the app to monitor its progress.

Temu shows updates such as:

(a) Order confirmed

(b) Order shipped

(c) In transit

(d) Out for delivery

(e) Delivered

Most orders to Nigeria take roughly 10 to 25 days to arrive, depending on the product's location, the shipping method selected, and customs processing.

If your order is taking longer than the estimate shown at checkout, use the in-app chat or the "Contact Us" option to reach Temu support.

Step 10: Receive Your Package

When your item arrives, the courier will typically call the phone number on your order before delivering, so keep your line reachable.

When the package arrives:

(a) Inspect it before or immediately after signing for it, if possible.

(b) Compare the item to what you ordered.

(c) Report any damage, wrong item, or missing item through the app within the return window stated on the order page, rather than waiting.
